Community Acupuncture Berea developed from a collective of health practitioners, teachers, and workshop facilitators who began meeting together in 2000 and started offering services as WaysMeet in March 2004. In November 2004, the WaysMeet group formed the WaysMeet Healing Arts Center (WHAC), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that now has an active board of directors and advisory network. Community Acupuncture Berea is an affiliate of WaysMeet Healing Arts Center. Community Acupuncture Berea shares the mission and vision of the WaysMeet group:
WaysMeet practitioners, teachers, and facilitators are respectful of the preferences and responsive to the values of the people whom we serve. We bring to our work at WaysMeet our own life experiences, our intuition, our creativity, and our careful listening. Believing that we all have the capacity to be sources of healing for ourselves and others, we offer our guidance and support to each other and to those for whom we provide care.
WaysMeet practitioners combine skills and knowledge about conventional approaches to health and disease with specific training in one or more alternative modalities. WaysMeet teachers and workshop facilitators bring extensive experience in their various fields to their offerings. Valuing both reflection and research, we serve as a resource for further study of the methods we offer and for the education of future health care professionals.
WaysMeet practitioners offer approaches that complement the care provided by physicians and other health care providers. To ensure integration of all aspects of your health care, we pledge prompt and clear communication with you and, with your permission, with the others involved in your care.
We believe that healing happens in community. We work together and are eager to collaborate with others interested in health care and education. In addition to opportunities for individual consultation and treatment, WaysMeet offers classes and workshops that bring people together for mutual sharing and support. We seek creative ways to work with groups and organizations in the service of healing our families, our communities, and the wider world. |
